BEARING EXTRACTOR
The front wheel bearing is a taper roller 2 piece type with 1 outer race cage.
The following photo's and text show how to dismantle the bearing from the brake drum stub shaft.
1 part of the tool will only take 1 taper roller race and race cage off and the other part of the tool will take the other race off. The bearing retaining plate is also used to pull the first race off.
Instructions for fitting the new bearing are at the bottom of this page.

![]() Assemble the tool with 6 long studs through A pipe can be attached to the top plate handle
the retaining plate.Tighten all together with and a big spanner used to pull the top bearing
the top plate and the long 20mm bolt. off. Alternatively use an air gun for a speedier
job. Here are the dimantled components.
![]() Destroy the inner oil seal and remove. The 2 pieces of the inner race puller
The dolly has a bearing ball inserted and the These fit under the bearing race
20mm bolt rides on it.
Secure the puller with 2 plates provided Attach 6 long studs

FITTING THE NEW BEARING.
Put the bearing retaining plate in position.
Fit the oil seal to the drum stub shaft and press on 1 bearing race. Apply grease.
Fit the other race and outer bearing race cage onto the vehicle. Apply grease.
Do not forget the spacer between the 2 bearings, make sure the oil seal is the correct way round as well as the retaining plate.
The drive shaft oil seal should be replaced too. The drive shaft has to be removed for this operation. The 2 oil seals are different sizes.
Fit the drum to the vehicle and secure the retaining plate.
